They're here: jalapeno- and pickle-brined, double-dredged fried breasts of chicken served with shredded iceberg on a soft, squishy bun from a brand new walkup in the corner of Rachel's Ginger Beer on 12th Avenue.

Sunset Fried Chicken Sandwiches is the latest cohabitation between chef Monica Dimas and RGB owner Rachel Marshall. Dimas slings tacos and other Mexican street staples as a permanent pop-up inside Nacho Borracho, which Marshall co-owns with Kate Opatz. She also makes divine sandwiches at Tortas Condesa, the Olive Way walkup counter which functions as the kitchen for Marshall and Opatz's other bar, Montana.

Which is a long-winded way of saying: Fried chicken. In a sandwich. With pickles and other elaborate toppings. Plus fries, an old-school wedge salad, and plenty of RGB in both pure and alcoholic forms. Sunset Fried Chicken Sandwiches keeps the same hours as the bar, except for closing at 1am on the weekends. Keep tabs on those sandwiches on Sunset's Facebook, and look for basic details soon on the website.
