After their father shuttered Paseo in late 2014, Julian and Lucas Lorenzo struck out on their own; they took over a former burger shack on Ballard's northern edge, christened their takeout restaurant Un Bien, and started slinging the Caribbean Roast sandwiches and other menu favorites they had assembled in Paseo's kitchen for so many years, using their father's original recipes, retained when the business was sold in bankruptcy court.

No surprise, Un Bien had an instant fan base. Now the Lorenzo brothers are opening a second restaurant, bringing their glorious, massive sandwiches to an awfully familiar location—the 6226 Seaview Ave NW address that was once home to Paseo's Ballard outpost. It's been standing unused since Paseo's new owner reopened the original location in Fremont.

The new Un Bien will hopefully open this spring, according to the Lorenzo family; stay tuned for more details on this most exciting sandwich development.
