Shaun McCrain and his wife Jill Kinney have spent more than a year searching for locations for their forthcoming restaurant Copine. Today the couple sent word that the long-anticipated restaurant will open on the corner of NW 65th and 24th Ave NW in the Ballard Public Lofts and Market building.
The space, says Kinney, is full of light and seats 64, including a chef's table, which was a priority in the search for a space. When Copine opens, likely in mid-2016, it's bound to be one of the year's biggest-deal restaurant arrivals. McCrain, an alum of high-profile restaurants like Per Se, promises food every bit as elegant as the plates at the former Book Bindery, where he served as chef for nearly four years.
