Sip Syrah at Salty’s on Alki
Salty’s on Alki Beach is hosting its 14th annual syrah event, with tantalizing red wines from more than 30 Washington wineries on offer. Chef Jeremy McLachlan will be on hand with a selection of appetizers to complement the fruity red wines such as smoked cod fritters, octopus tacos, and grilled local asparagus. A portion of the $50 ticket will benefit Seattle Children’s Hospital and the John L. Scott Foundation.

Dine and Donate with Dining Out for Life
Over 150 restaurants across Seattle are donating a portion of their proceeds to charity as part of the annual fundraising event, Dining Out for Life. Part of your tab, 30 percent in most restaurants, will be donated to Lifelong AIDS Alliance, a nonprofit organization delivering food, housing, and health services to people living with chronic illnesses, including HIV and AIDS. Participating restaurants include Poppy, Le Pichet, and Witness (who are donating 50 percent of each tab on the day).

Sat, May 2

Anniversary Celebrations at the Calf and Kid
To celebrate its fifth anniversary, this most excellent cheese shop will be dishing out delights to customers at Calf and Kid's Melrose Market store from noon on. Crowds can expect $2 raclette nachos while their neighbors, Homegrown Sandwiches and Rain Shadow Meats, will be offering up their own selections as a token of customer appreciation.

Celebrate the Kentucky Derby at The BottleNeck Lounge
For its eight annual Run for the Roses Kentucky Derby party, the Madison Valley bar will serve handcrafted mint juleps fashioned with Kentucky-made Makers Mark. Make sure not to spill any on your Southern finery as there will be prizes for the best hat and best dressed after the race. Get there before 3pm so you don't miss the traditional singing of "My Old Kentucky Home."

Sun, May 3

Tavolàta’s Lobster Feast
The monthly Sunday Feast returns to Ethan Stowell’s Belltown spot where chef Addam Buzzalini will be cooking a springtime feast with an array of lobster dishes including lobster fritters, lobster risotto, and lobster ravioli. Dinner begins at 6pm and the cost per person is $75. These feasts tend to sell out so reservations are advised.
