The bearer of bad news.

The tale of Paseo's surprise shuttering gained another twist on Friday. The Puget Sound Business Journal is reporting the restaurant's name and all its equipment were sold at an auction for $91,000.

Not included: the recipes. The buyer's name won't be released until the sale is final, though it certainly sounds more likely than the short-lived "save Paseo" Kickstarter.

According to the PSBJ, bankruptcy trustees wanted to move swiftly to capitalize on the public interest in Paseo's closure and potential resurrection: "A judge granted a small auction that was held in the courtroom hallway in the interest of time."

This is starting to sound more like an episode of the Good Wife than a tale that results in the reinstatement of one of Seattle's favorite sandwiches. Still, I'm awfully curious to learn the identity of its new owner.
