Scallops with corn and onion soubise at Alicia Fusion Bistro.

Never an auspicious neighborhood to be caught with an appetite, lakeside Leschi now has a promising new Vietnamese destination: Alicia Fusion Bistro.

Owned by the family who gave us the Green Leaf restaurants (ID and Belltown), Alicia has upped the culinary stock of a neighborhood that’s long had to choose between a spendy steakhouse, a lackluster boozy bistro, and whatever Asian joint has occupied the revolving door storefront just north.

That’s the spot Alicia now occupies, offering solid fusion and Vietnamese classics, including a lemongrassy clam ragu and $10 banh mis. Edible? Worth it?  Read my Alicia Fusion Bistro review in the December issue of Seattle Met.

And though there’s no lake view from the polished candlelit room, you are well positioned for Christmas Ships (which are scheduled for Madrona Park Saturday, December 20.)
