With construction of the new south building at University Village near completion, the merchants slotted to reside in that spot are finally ready to go public. A few already have, like Kurt Dammeier of Beecher’s with his new spot Liam's—home-style comfort food. And Din Tai Fung’s first Seattle location serving up dumplings galore. And just this morning we received word from U Village PR team that along with these two ventures, Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream will be opening a cafe-style space, and the Joey restaurant group will be opening Joey Kitchen.
The new Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream will have more of a cafe vibe. The cafe will be serving the classic Molly flavors of strawberry balsamic and honey lavender (plus many more) and fresh waffle cones. The Joey Kitchen is being dubbed the flagship for the company—and its test kitchen before they roll out plans for openings in California. The space will have an airy floor plan with an open kitchen and two outdoor patios. Executive chef Chris Millis will be leading the charge. We'll keep you posted with more information as we get it.
