Skyline views, games, and lots of seating.

I'll admit, the words "Red Lion Hotel" made me a little skeptical. But the hotel at 1415 Fifth Avenue has renovated its former Terrace Garden space, which will reopen tomorrow as Frolik (yes, with a "k"). And, guys: The patio is ridiculously (ridikulously?) nice.

Five stories above the street you'll find ping pong, shuffleboard, outdoor fireplaces and tons of seating of both the couch and traditional variety under strings of white lights. Inside there's a gaming area where you can play Microsoft Kinect and order cocktails designed by local barman Mike McSorley. This promises to be a good place to scope out events like the Torchlight Parade, but I should also mention that happy hour runs daily from 4 to 10 and the menu is filled with $5 plates like bacon-wrapped dates, smoked salmon deviled eggs, and a Beecher's grilled cheese with tomato soup. Starting tomorrow, April 19, Frolik is open from breakfast through happy hour; Facebook has the menus and other details.
