The Augustus Opens This Week in Fremont

Fremont officially has a new destination for an after-work drink…with a side of housemade sausage. The Augustus softly opened this week in the former Rogue and Peasant space next to its Spanish-leaning elder sibling Hunger at 3601 Fremont Ave N. Chef-owners Brian Brooks and Jaime Mullins-Brooks teamed up with longtime industry friends Robb and Sarah Sheldon to create a space with pressed tin ceilings and a copper-topped bar that serves affordable wines, good beers, and a scratch cocktail program. Brian Brooks reports that seating is comfortable and books and board games are ready for perusal.
Also ready for perusal: a menu of house-ground sausage. The linguica is made with house-cured bacon and onion gastrique. Facebook also tells of a bacon cheeseburger sausage. Intruiging.
The bar is open softly from 4 to midnight, then closed Friday for a private party. The grand opening is on Saturday. Check Facebook for more updates and info.
