The fast-and-furious expansion of Top Pot continues. The doughnut purveyor is venturing south for its newest cafe, slated to open around Black Friday at 815 North 10th Street in Renton's Landing complex.

Like the chain's 11 other stores—a handful of which opened in the past six months—the Landing location will feature the standard run of doughnuts, bars, fritters, and espresso drinks. Ice cream? That'll happen in 2013, as will a rear expansion making room for baking facilities.

For more than a year now cofounders Mark and Michael Klebeck have operated a slick Airstream Bambi in the neighborhood at McLendon Hardware (and will continue to do so), but this new cafe signals their southernmost brick-and-mortar yet. For now, at least.

"Like 2012, we will look for more of these retail opportunities as they come up," says Mark Klebeck of future plans. "Hopefully my hometown of Tacoma is not far off!"
