This week: a new bakery in SLU, another Veggie Grill, a couple kitchen shakeups, and more.

Soon the beast will take on a new form.

Outlander Brewery and Pub
A new brewery is opening, but no, it’s not in Ballard. Dragan Radulovic and Nigel Lassiter debut their Fremont drinking destination Friday at 5pm. The Victorian-style pub will feature intriguing brews made in the basement (on tap this weekend: strawberry wheat, peanut butter stout, and a brown ale), plus a menu of ale-infused foods.

La Toscanella Bakery and Paninoteca
South Lake Union is getting a new bakery and café inspired by the pastries and desserts of northern Italy. La Toscenalla, which opens August 7, will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinners featuring fresh pasta and take-and-bake items.

Elliott's Seafood Café
Elliott's Oyster House now boasts a fast-casual sidewalk oyster bar, Elliott's Seafood Café.

Veggie Grill
While one Veggie Grill will debut in South Lake Union this month, the California company has plans to open another at University Village. The purveyor of vegan comfort food uses seasoned and marinated "veggie-meats" made of wheat, soy proteins, and carrot fiber.

West Seattle Brewing Company
According to West Seattle Blog, Kevin Fawcett’s West Seattle Brewing Company will take over 4415 Fauntleroy Way SW, formerly home to Tervo's Market and the Corner Store and Deli.

Belltown Pizza
The New York-style pizzeria on First and Wall is expanding to Queen Anne, according to Eater Seattle. Belltown Pizza will replace the former Enza Cucina Siciliana at Queen Anne and Boston. No details on an opening date yet.

Fish Cake Factory
Eater Seattle reports Fish Cake Factory will replace Belltown Mediterranean cafe Zeitoon. Detail are few, but the concept is gourmet fish cakes made from salmon, halibut, and trout.

Plaza Garibaldi
A new restaurant will soon open where Jalisco's in Queen Anne once stood. Ewing & Clark's Blake Taylor, who leased the space, told Queen Anne View Plaza Garibaldi will be a "great Mexican-themed, family-friendly dining option."

Space Taco
The casual wine bar Forte on Second Avenue will soon become Space Taco, says Eater. Owner Giuseppe Forte and his new partners are revamping it, with the opening date of the tortilla shop several weeks away.

Chaco Canyon
West Seattle Blog says to look out for sidewalk seating at Chaco Canyon soon.

Tyler Moritz
After two years, Moritz has left La Bete on Capitol Hill, leaving his founding partner, Aleks Dimitrijevic, in charge. The parting was mutual and amiable, according to Dimitrijevic.

Tom Black
Black is no longer working the kitchen at Restaurant Bea, which he opened in late March with Kate Perry. She’s still there, running the front of the house, and is keeping mum about Black’s replacement but apparently quite excited about the new chef.

New York Cupcakes
The Madison Valley location of New York Cupcakes shuttered earlier this week after 11 months. If you can't live without their frosted goodies, the Bellevue location at the Crossroads Shopping Center is still going strong and celebrated its four-year anniversary August 1st, in fact.

Stell's Burgers and More
After a messy lawsuit (literally, it was over the costs of cleaning up PCE contamination), Stell's Burgers and More closed its doors, reports Queen Anne View. Owner Stellios Makratzakis chose to vacate as part of the settlement, and is hoping to move Stell's to a different location.

Amore Infused
Owner Sean Langan informed Seattle PI that Amore, ravaged by a fire in January, will close. On the upside, Langan will be opening a new restaurant, Fall City Bistro, in Fall City soon.
