The latest spot from the Chow Foods group serves up tortas, churros, and even hamburguesas in Wallingford.

The guys behind Chow Foods (aka the Hi-Life, 5 Spot, and Enolyne Joe's) have opened their new TnT Taqueria in Wallingford. The miniscule space at 2114 N 45th Street is located across the street from the Guild 45 theater and was previously home to Jitterbug.

These days you’ll find an open kitchen dishing up quick-serve Mexican food, namely burritos, tacos, tortas and salad bowls dubbed tazones (okay, the menu also has sections for hamburguesas and “hotdogueros”). A breakfast menu includes morningtime versions of burritos and tortas, as well as plates like huevos rancheros and chilaquiles. Yes, there are definitely churros.

TnT serves breakfast, lunch and dinner every day but Tuesday (hours are 8-10pm). If you’ve frequented other Chow restaurants, you know what to expect: family friendliness and accessible food with a focus on local ingredients and careful sourcing. However this space differs from the others in that, well, it's tiny (800 square feet), so seats are minimal. Expect most of the action to happen at the walkup window, a welcome arrival for neighborhood denizens interested in taking their tortas to go.
