Cornhole: Almost a Seattle-Area Trend

Big in the Midwest, and in the backyard, cornhole is now headed to some local bars. Photo via Vermilion County First.
Over at Seattle Weekly, Julien Perry says that Skillet maestro Joshua Henderson is stepping away from the day-to-day operations of his restaurant-food truck empire to work on some new projects. One of these is an upcoming tavern in Woodinville that will open some time next year. Henderson did share a few details with Perry, including a promise of “whiskey, cornhole, and cheeseburgers.”
Last week Sauced brought news of Populuxe Brewing, a forthcoming Ballard taproom that will also have a cornhole court, hopefully one that will be sanctioned by the American Cornhole Association. Midwestern transplants I know in this city have long lamented the scarcity of cornhole (aka bags, corn toss, or bean bag toss) and now within one week we get news that two upcoming watering holes will feature this fine game?
Granted, in journalism school we learn it takes three instances to make something a bona fide trend, but at the moment I’m just excited to have multiple destinations where I might satisfy my cornhole desires (I didn’t mean it like that, sicko).
