As Seattle Times happy hour scribe Tan Vinh noted earlier this week, downtown Bellevue has become the epicenter for happy hour on the Eastside. While newcomer Koral Bar and Kitchen doesn’t currently have a formal happy hour program, office workers in the 425 area code will likely be all over this slick new spot for post-Microsoft merriment, which opens today in Bellevue’s Hyatt Regency hotel, the former Twisted Cork location.

Owners Bradley Dickinson and Mikel Rogers are also behind nearby Pearl Bar and Dining. The duo says their second spot will have more of a warm tavern feel (albeit a tavern that seats 130 in the dining room and 70 at the bar). The menu is heavy on small plates, including cheese curds, roasted marrow bones, crostini and tuna crudo. But the entrée list is nearly as vast, and prices there range from $12 to $26.

Koral opens tonight at 5, and per the release, regular hours will be 4-10 most nights, with a back bar that keeps running through midnight. Brunch is due later this month.
