The dudes behind Homegrown sure know how to keep busy.

While construction gets underway for a second storefront in the Melrose Market, co-owners Ben Friedman and Brad Gillis are extending hours at the sustainable sandwich shop’s original location in Fremont.

Starting this weekend the eco-friendly operation will stay open until 8pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Don’t come looking for dinner-only offerings—the menu is the same one you’ll find during the day—but after 4pm beers from Hales Ales, Pike Brewing, and Scuttlebutt will cost just $2.50. That offer will run for the next couple weekends, says Friedman.

No word yet on a late-night menu.
