Wine People: Get Tickets Now for 20Something the New Vintage.

Born before the ’80s? You should still go.

November 9, 2009

At 20Something: the New Vintage it’s all about the wine, of course.

UPDATE: This event is sold out.

Event takes place November 21st at Fremont Studios.

The Washington Wine Commission’s 20Something: The New Vintage is like Taste Washington, only with cheaper wine and Rihanna on the sound system. (That’s what the kids are listening to today, right? Rihanna?) There are probably a few more Ed Hardy T-shirts, too. But it’s cheaper than Taste ($50 for one, $90 for a couple) and it sounds like a good way to meet Washington winemakers as well as local chefs and taste the state’s best wines under $30. I’m told this thing always sells out well in advance, so if you’re going to get tickets, get them.

I always assumed the event was meant exclusively for twentysomethings, until my thirtysomething self was invited to a “Tweet Up” at the commission, where we tasted wines to be featured at 20Something. A Tweet Up, if you don’t know, is like a party, except instead of talking to the other people at the party, you tool around on Twitter. I know, I know. But you don’t have to do that. Just go drink tasty wines and nosh on snacks from Serious Pie and Wild Ginger and the like. You can even bring your grandma—just tell her to wear that supercute Bedazzly tank top she got at Forever 21.
