I’m not shy about my love for the Saint on Capitol Hill. Quentin Ertel’s little tequila cantina meets all of my requirements for a great bar: sweet, dedicated staffers, inspired cocktails, and a happy hour that 1. includes delicious original cocktails and 2. doubles as dinner. Highlights on the $5 HH small plates menu include the chicken mole tacos and the halibut ceviche, which is piled atop perfect little masa cakes. Both dishes are way, way above your typical happy hour fare.

The drink specials are: $3 wells, half-price wine bottles, and five $5 specialty cocktails —including an excellent margarita.

HH normally goes from 5-7 daily, but in honor of its one year anniversary, the Saint is hosting a secret all-night happy hour beginning today and lasting through Thursday, April 23. Just whisper the code word— El Toro —to your server, and you’ll be snacking it up and slurping $5 margaritas well into the wee hours. Enjoy.
