Mike Tyson's Seattle Stage Show Canceled

Apparently not enough people wanted to hear the "Undisputed Truth."

By Seattle Met Staff February 25, 2013

Iron Mike's been knocked down a bit in the past week. The former boxer announced the cancellation of multiple shows on his national tour of solo show Mike Tyson: Undisputed Truth, including his date with Seattle on March 14. It's nothing nefarious—no run-ins with tigers or ex-girlfriends to speak of. According to a report out of Dallas, it appears that certain shows just weren't selling well. Even with Spike Lee on board as director.

Per a Seattle Theatre Group release:

"Due to circumstances beyond my control, certain cities on my Undisputed Truth tour have been cancelled. I am so appreciative of my fans and all of my supporters. I sincerely apologize to anyone that was inconvenienced by these cancellations. I was looking forward to doing a great show for you and hope at a later date that I am still able to do so." —Mike Tyson

Sure, Tyson probably didn't say a word of that, but we still feel a little sad for the guy—especially now that we know that Seattle was on his bucket list of places to visit. (He's gotten so mellow... read our Q&A with Iron Mike.)

Tickets bought with credit cards will be refunded automatically; tickets bought with cash will be refunded at the Paramount Theatre box office.
