PubliCalendar: Community Climate Forum

For Today
Community Climate Forum
The city's Office of Sustainability and Environment is hosting a community discussion about how Seattle residents can prepare for the effects of climate change. The meeting will focus on Seattle's culturally diverse and low-income communities, groups that are often less equipped to face the impacts of climate change
Council member Mike O’Brien, chair of the Planning, Land Use, and Sustainability committee, will lead the conversation. It's free, but registration is required.
Community Climate Forum, Mon, Sept 22, 5–7pm, Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 Fifth Ave, free

Universal Pre-K
A publicly funded universal pre-kindergarten measure will be on the ballot in November. Today’s discussion will talk about what funding will look like and how it could impact families and educators if it were to pass.
Although not required, enrolling children into a pre-K program can be extremely beneficial to their learning, but according to the League of Education Voters, only three out of 10 three- and four-year-olds were enrolled in a pre-K program last year.
PubliCola has done a lot of coverage on the issue.
