PubliCalendar: Greens and Things

For Today
Central Area Neighborhood Greenway Drop-In Session
Since 23rd Avenue is a heavily used route in the Central District, it is not always the safest or most comfortable street for pedestrians and cyclists. The Central Area Neighborhood Greenway plan that is being implemented for the area is still deciding between the 24th and 25th Avenue routes. The preferred options for phase two of the project will be presented in this meeting. PubliCola's Josh Feit breaks down the greenway project—sans bike lane.
Central Area Neighborhood Greenway Drop-In Session, Tue, Aug 26, 4:30–6:30pm, Garfield Community Center, 2323 E Cherry St, free
For Wednesday
21 Acres: Pick and Prepare
Each class in the Pick and Prepare course on farm-to-table dining begins with a lesson and ends with food preparation. The first class in certified organic farm 21 Acres' three-week course defines sustainable farming techniques and adds a roasted summer salad into your dinner-making repertoire.
Classes two and three take place September 3 & 10; expect discussions of factory farming and menus with seasonal soup and preserves.
21 Acres: Pick and Prepare, Wed, Aug 27, 6:30–8:30pm, 21 Acres, 13701 NE 171st St, Woodinville, $50–$60
