On October 13, more than 630 honored guests joined the Group Health Foundation at the Westin Seattle for an evening of magic and inspiration. The Gift of Health Gala raised $739,000 for the Group Health Childhood Immunization Initiative, improving access to, and education about, vaccinations. Christopher Elias, MD, MPH, president of the Global Development Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, was presented with the 2012 Innovator in Health Award for his important work around the world for the relief of human suffering. Guests were dazzled by circus performances, including acro-balancing and juggling, and danced into the night.
