WHAT: Consider this your first gown-worthy call-to-action of the New Year. The Seattle Opera opens 2015 with Tosca, Puccini's passionate story with a fiery diva and dramatic love triangle, plus you, in the audience, dressed to the nines. The opera's media manager suggested via email that, "Now is the time to go big or go home—whether that means putting on your velvet suit and silk bow tie, or your most ostentatious jewels and scandalous heels. For one night only, let’s leave our everyday attire behind and simply look fabulous."

Take that a step further and channel Old World Italy with a low, square neckline, an embellished bodice, lots of lace, and leather boots.

WHEN: Opening night is Saturday, January 10. Tickets are available through the Seattle Opera. Stay after the performance for the Opera Ball that includes dancing, drinks, and a three-course dinner with the cast.
