Who knew that the same technology used for peeking in at unborn babies and detecting serious health issues could also make you look younger? Well, apparently scientists knew. And they're sharing their wisdom in the form of a new locally made skin-care product, JeNu.

The cutting-edge at-home system was developed by local bioscientists in conjunction with an aesthetic and medical team that includes Calidora Skin Clinic owner Colette Courtion and dermatologist Dr. Jennifer Reichel. The basic idea is this: Most skin creams only penetrate into the very upper layers of the skin, or sit on top of the skin and evaporate away. JeNu's technology works by pushing product deeper into the skin's layers giving users greater results.

The system combines ultrasound waves with its specially formulated eye cream to gently stimulate the epidermis and decrease fine lines and wrinkles. The wand pulses waves through the skin, agitating the cells and opening them up to accept the antiaging microparticles in the Active Youth cream. Used with the lip serum, the wand deposits hydrating vitamins and essential oils into the lips leaving users with a plump, moisturized pout.

I've been using the wand on a nightly basis for two weeks now, and while I had very few fine lines to begin with, I am seeing some legitimate results. The dark bags under my eyes that have plagued me since late-night college study sessions have all but disappeared, leaving me looking more refershed and awake and less like an under-caffeinated zombie. And using the wand and lip serum on my ever-chapped pout does give me hydrated, fuller lips—although that only seems to last around six hours.
