Local perfumer Maria Christofilis has Seattle roots mixed with a colorful childhood spent abroad. Elegant, curious and creative, Maria has developed a home fragrance, worked for a menswear fragrance houses and has her own eponymous parfum line. The newest fragrance, Mykonos12, was just launched in April; with notes of iris, bergamot and oak moss, it evokes "a lazy, sun drenched summer holiday on the Aegean Sea." We asked Maria for a little insight into what makes her tick.

Name and occupation:
Maria Christofilis. Creator and curator. Mom to two young daughters.

Your motto?

Describe your style.
I guess I'll go with eclectic. I like boho but I also like tailored; a mix of high and low.

Who is your favorite perfumer?
Master perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux. His fragrances are big and bold and always tell a colorful story. He created my signature scent Fleur09 in 2009 as a birthday gift to me. It's the most wonderful white floral fragrance. A big joyful tuberose, jasmine and orange blossom scent.

Where is your favorite place to get creative inspiration in Seattle?
The San Juan Islands!
