What if we told you that just blocks from the SeaTac Airport there's a warm, quiet lodge with a gourmet farm-to-table restaurant, lush outdoor spaces, and a new top-notch spa?

This unlikely oasis is real, folks, and it's named Cedarbrook Lodge.

Just opened in September, the serene spa focuses on treatments using natural, earth-friendly products. The team of skilled spa technicians work to customize each massage, facial, and body wrap—they're especially conscious and accommodating to allergies and personal preferences.

I road-tested a signature massage, starting with a candlelit soak in the oversized in-room whirlpool tub (there's a salts-and-scents bar for you to customize your bath add-ins, plus lots of bubbles). The treatment was worth every minute of I-5 traffic to get there. And the icing on an extremely relaxing cake of a massage: my spa tech, Sunshine, was so soothing and uplifting. I walked out the door both physically ironed out, and mentally clear and confident.

Other treatments include hydrotherapy scrubs and wraps, all-natural facials, and a roundup of seasonal experiences using cinnamon scrubs, pumpkin seeds, honey, and cloves.

Make a weekend of it and book the lodge's holiday package that combines a night in the hotel, plus two 50-minute holiday-themed treatments (share one with your weekend date or take a solo getaway) starting at $360.
