There's just something very fever-fueled about Style Counselor and Seattle designer Emeka Alams' collections for Gold Coast Trading Company. Combining history, message, and bold graphics—and hitting that hot note that Business of Fashion calls the statement sweatshirt—his pieces are highly charged and electrically elusive. Which just makes us want them more. 

The new Imo Youth series was named for the Nigerian state that was his parent's home and includes a handful of T-shirts and sweatshirts and baseball caps.

In a preview of the collection sent to a select few of us, Alams said, "The capsule collection takes a nostalgic look at a home lost, the search for a new identity, and the churn of migration within the Afro-triangle."

The collection is available directly from GCTC, but I don't suspect that it'll be available for long.
