Semiahmoo Reopens
When Bellingham's Semiahmoo Resort closed last December, engaged hearts broke all over the region. The waterfront, golf course property was popular with Whatcom County types as well as those from down south in King County and beyond.
But as Tripster's Allison Williams reported a few weeks ago, the Resort is back in action thanks to the pockets of Cedarbrook Lodge owners Coastal Hotel Group.
(Insert collective sigh of relief from wedding planners and their clients here.)

You'll be happy to know that among the priorities of the new Semiahmoo owners is food. This plate, from a review of Cedarbrook Lodge, is a sign of good things to come.

The new owners issued a press release saying they plan to revamp the spa, restore the athletic facilities, and make impactful but small improvements to things like bedding. They also plan to put a shine on the property's culinary offerings.
Considering Cedarbrook's lauded Copperleaf Restaurant, good things are on the horizon.
The plan is to get the Resort open, event staff positions filled, and those newly fluffed beds and restaurant seats occupied by the end of summer. We'll let you know when they're ready to book your late 2013 or 2014 event.
