H&M x Isabel Marant
Well, well, well. Ready to stand in line again?
The announcement came this morning that the latest and greatest H&M collaboration is with Isabel Marant, the French designer known for at-once incredibly low-key and super sexy riffs on short shorts, boucle jackets, and high tops.

Isabel Marant: the epitome of that whole low-key Parisian chic thing. Image courtesy H&M.
Of particular interest here is that Marant isn't sold online; Totokaelo, La Ree, and other local shops carry her, so we're good. But if we lived in some elbow of a town without a stockist, we wouldn't be able to order her line off the internet (if, that is, we could afford it to begin with—that part is no easy task). Like Dries van Noten, part of her exclusivity is this no-click-to-buy clause with retailers. But doesn't a certain amount of exclusivity go out the window when you design looks that go for $39?
And then there's this: Until now Marant hasn't made clothes for men. The H&M collection is for her and him, and marks the designer's first foray into menswear.
The collection launches November 14 and while we don't have certain word that the downtown Seattle store will stock it, there's no reason to believe it won't.
So, I ask you again: What's your queue strategy?
