How's this for a surefire wedding vibe? Urban historical literary feast.

With the July launch of Axis Pioneer Square, the new/old event space and studio from the folks behind Urban Light Studios, you'll have a most convenient spot for hosting such an affair.

Formerly occupied by Elliott Bay Books, the former Globe Building is all sky-high ceilings and hundred-year old brick. We snapped this image during construction but you get the picture, right?

Sort of the stuff old Seattle dreams are made of, really. And given Urban Light's dedication to, well, light (the team has photographers and art lovers on its roster, and c'mon, the name?) and their established connections with vendors, it's the kind of spot that should open and start making people really happy in a pretty seamless manner.

They're set up to help you host 250 for a sit-down fete or 400 for a more casual cocktail affair; they have a client-friendly alcohol policy, lots of globes and books to match the bricks and wood, and key partnerships with caterers like Ravishing Radish and City Catering.

Vendors: stay tuned for open house opportunities; couples: talk with your planners or call Axis directly.
