About a month ago, on September 11 at the Carlyle in New York City, Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen sent 24 minimal, clean-lined, and excrutiatingly gorgeous looks into a library-like setting. I can only imagine the hush that went over the crowd.
For the Spring 2013 collection, Japan was a reference (they were architectural). The English country side was a reference (they were feminine). American folk was a reference (I don't truthfully get that one).
In contrast to the pop culture read of the Olsen twins, their collections for the Row—especially the most recently shown one—are understated, bare, and complex in its simplicity.
Simply put: It's one of the top five American lines out there, and the spring 2013 collection is going to be at Mario's on Thursday and Friday, October 25 and 26 during normal business hours.
