Funny Halloween Costume Ideas for Topical Seattleites

Some people aren't cut out to be ghosts and goblins; they'd rather be Green Jacket Lady.

By Seattle Met Staff October 13, 2023

If you're the kind of Seattleite who'd rather shop for a costume in your closet than at Spirit Halloween, well, we have some ideas for you.

Retired Megan Rapinoe

The biggest crowd in OL Reign history turned out to watch beloved Seattle superstar Megan Rapinoe's last game. She taught us to speak our minds and to fail (on the rare occasion she did) with dignity. Now she gives us an easy Halloween costume.

What You Need: Megan Rapinoe Jersey, Lei, Flip-Flops, straw sticking out of a coconut

The Frasier Reboot

Seattle's favorite radio therapist is back on the airwaves. Well, sort of. Frasier is back on streaming this time, and he's abandoned his Seattle apartment with the very unrealistic view for a return to Boston.

What You Need: Bald Cap (Receding Hairline cap?), Boston Red Sox Gear, Absence of David Hyde Pierce and Jane Leeves

Dambo Troll

This one might take some skill. Danish artist Thomas Dambo's massive troll sculptures, made from scrap wood, have been a sensation around the world. But they seem to fit especially well here, where they've become perfect Instagram fodder among the trees.

What You Need: Exquisite Crafting Skills, Lots of Wood chips

Green Jacket Lady

This anonymous Seattleite won our hearts when she viciously mocked a fear-mongering Fox News reporter in what became a viral clip. Hell, she's already leading in (satirical) mayoral polls

What You Need: Green Jacket, Withering Sarcasm

A Boy in a Boat

George Clooney's highly anticipated adaptation of the bestseller from Daniel James Brown about the UW crew team in the 1936 Olympics comes out this fall. We haven't seen The Boys in the Boat yet, but there's sure to be a lot of hype. This costume could go any number of ways.

What you need: A boat, obviously, Or at the very least an oar
