What Should Be on the 2020 Washington State Legislative Agenda?
As lawmakers convene on January 13 to kick off the 2020 session, three Washingtonians opine on what they’d like to see.

► “Transportation is the largest source of emissions, [and] emissions continue to increase. From our perspective, a policy that really moves the state forward and jump-starts the transition to cleaner fuels, especially electricity, is really necessary.” —Vlad Gutman-Britten, Washington director of Climate Solutions
► “Mandatory sexual health education in all school levels. The issue is that [some] districts are not providing comprehensive reproductive health education. Where are the kids then getting that education?” —Meghan Eagen-Torkko, UW assistant nursing professor and sexual health clinician
► “Just simply focusing on keeping brake dust and oil and things out of the Ship Canal will do more for fish in Washington state than a plastic bag ban. Just that one little area would make a huge difference.” —Todd Myers, Environmental director of the Washington Policy Center
