When we decided to interview and photograph Snopes.com founder David Mikkelson (“David Mikkelson Sorts Fact from Fiction with Snopes.com") we started with a simple photo concept—a noir shot with a magnifying glass. Photographer Taylor Castle took the idea and, well, magnified it. He added magnifying lights and the signature Snopes lamp. We did more straightforward shots with just the magnifier. And David’s inquisitive, quirky character came through each time. The hardest part was picking the best photo.
