By Darren Davis October 8, 2014

For Today

One Year of ObamaCare

It's been a year since the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, aka "ObamaCare," and the world didn't end.

That being said, the new legislation hasn't worked for everyone. Come listen to experts discuss to what extent ObamaCare has been a success and where it fell short of its goals.

Panelists include Washington state secretary of health John Wiesman, and health care authority director Dorothy Teeter.

One Year of ObamaCare, Wed, Oct 8, 7:30–8:45pm, Town Hall, 1119 Eighth Ave, $5

For Thursday

Depave the Duwamish

Know of a particularly bleak parking lot that is just begging to be spruced up with a spruce? Sustainable Seattle and Urban Systems Design is working with local property owners to add a little green to our concrete jungle, and they are asking the community to get involved.

Stop by the information meeting to learn where the "Depave" model worked for Portland, and how they plan to identify and transform 10,000 square feet of asphalt in the Duwamish Valley. An RSVP is appreciated.

Depave the Duwamish, Thu, Oct 9, 6–8pm, Sourth Seattle Community College, 6737 Corson Ave S, Room C208, Free.

For Friday
