Friday Jolt: Reagan Dunn
Today's winner: Attorney General candidate Reagan Dunn.
Dunn, a Republican King County Council member who's been trailing his Democratic opponent (and fellow county council member) Bob Ferguson in the polls, has been blessed by an infusion of cash from the Republican State Leadership Committee, with more reportedly on the way.
The RSLC has spent $1.25 million on ads supporting Dunn or opposing Ferguson, according to campaign finance reports filed at the state Public Disclosure Commission. The media buy includes a TV ad accusing Ferguson of "working tirelessly for a convicted murderer who brutally convicted two police officers," an extremely misleading (but perhaps effective) reference to the fact that Ferguson helped secure legal representation for a death-row inmate when he was a law student.
Today's second winner: Seattle tech writer Glenn Fleishman.
Continuing Seattle's—and, we like to think, PubliCola's—winning quiz-show streak (pal of PubliCola Tom Nissley won more than $250,000 on the show in 2010), erstwhile PubliCola TechNerd Glenn Fleishmann has netted at least $15,000 on Jeopardy! so far, after his correct Final Jeapordy answer last night: "Who is Karl Marx?"
Glenn's next round (shows are taped two months in advance) airs this evening.
