1. The Tacoma News Tribune reports that the state supreme court is hearing arguments on whether Gov. Chris Gregoire has the right to withhold documents from the public by claiming "executive privilege."
2. In an op/ed for the Olympian, the Educational Service District 113 (an agency that supports public school districts in the counties around Olympia), argues that I-1240, the charter-school initiative, would "reduce funding for public schools" by diverting money from local public schools to new, privately run charters.

4. Despite an improved state revenue forecast, the Washington State Budget and Policy Center argues, the state needs new resources to help rebuild its economy.
