Tomorrow’s PubliCalendar picks for political nerds:

National Night Out Against Crime

Tomorrow marks the 29th annual Night Out Against Crime, where neighborhoods are encouraged to hold open gatherings to heighten awareness about crime in their communities. Amid festivities ranging from games to block parties, neighbors can discuss local crime prevention-tactics such as Block Watches, or celebrate the success of what they may have already done.

The Seattle Police Department has graciously provided neighborhoods permission to close non-arterials to traffic (as long as they keep intersections open), and officers will be visiting parties across the city to lend their expertise. Visit their website for info on how to register, or to find an event near you.
