Extra Fizz: Democrats to Track Potential Cantwell Opponent Bryant
A Democratic Party source confirms that Democrats plan to trail Seattle Port Commissioner Bill Bryant, a moderate Republican who has not yet confirmed or denied that he plans to run against Democratic Washington State Senator Maria Cantwell, to monitor and film what he says at public events.
The tactic of showing up at Republicans' public events, camera in hand, is in vogue among Democrats lately; last year, a party cameraman was kicked out of a Rob McKenna event in Bellevue, and a cameraman was on hand to record McKenna's appearance at a recent health care conference as well.
The first event the Democrats will attend: Today's Port Commission meeting, at 1:00 at Pier 69 on the downtown waterfront.
Hopefully, he'll have recovered from his bout of laryngitis.
