This Washington
Inslee with Big Fundraising Advantage
It's too early to post today's Jolt—as the day goes on there's sure to be some more winners and losers. But Democratic gubernatorial candidate US Rep. Jay Inslee is about to get a positive boost.[pullquote]McKenna is not allowed to raise money for four months, something he noted with some urgency in a fundraising mailer today.[/pullquote]
With the legislative session beginning on November 28, Inslee's rival, Washington State Attorney General Rob McKenna, is not allowed to raise money for four months; something McKenna noted with some urgency in a fundraising mailer he sent out today. (Statewide elected officials aren't allowed to raise money during the legislative session.)
US Rep. Inslee is under no such restriction and is already leading (slightly) in the race for cash.
To date, McKenna has raised $2.2 million with about $1.4 million on hand. Inslee has raised about $2.4 million with $1.8 million on hand.
