McKenna's Money

By Josh Feit September 13, 2011

The PI.com reports on the August fundraising numbers from US Rep. Jay Inslee (D-WA, 1) and Republican Attorney General Rob McKenna—the rivals for 2012's governor's race.
Rob McKenna’s gubernatorial campaign has reported raising about $517,000 in August, for a grand total of $1.52 million.

That’s about the same as his Democratic opponent, who raised $525,000 last month, according to the Public Disclosure Commission. Inslee has brought in $1.63 million.

The PI adds a little worrisome analysis for the McKenna camp, though. He's spending money faster than Inslee.
However McKenna, the Republican attorney general, continues to spend money at a much faster clip than his rival. He has reported spending more than $620,000, while Inslee has gone through just under $294,000.

They note
that earlier reports showed McKenna  spending twice as much on political consulting—$24,000 vs. $12,000—than Inslee.

We scanned McKenna's August contributions to identify some of his top donors. (For our look at Inslee's top donors, check out this morning's Fizz
