John Slashes Prostitute In the Central District, UW Students Robbed, And Gym Creepiness
Today in Fuzz: John slashes prostitute in the Central District, UW students warned about robbery, and police arrest a man for making creepy comments to a 12-year-old at a gym:
1) Police are investigating a woman's claim that a man pulled a knife on her and slashed her earlier this week in the Central District after he offered to pay her for sex.
The woman—who is homeless, according to a police report—told officers the man picked her up at 23rd Ave. S. and S. Jackson just after 1:00 am on September 20th, and offered to pay her $20 for a blowjob.
The man drove to MLK and S Jackson where, a police report says, the woman changed her mind, said she didn't want to give the man oral sex, and tried to get out of the car.
The suspect grabbed the woman, pulled out a knife with a three or four inch blade, and pointed it at her.
The woman grabbed the knife to keep the man from stabbing her, the report says, cutting her hand in the process.
The woman was able to get out of the man's car and run to a bus, which she took to a friend's house at 23rd and Cherry.
The report says the victim didn't want her friend to call police, but they did anyway.
Medics took the woman to Harborview hospital, where she was treated for injuries sustained in the attack.
2) The University of Washington sent out an alert to students Thursday morning about a robbery near campus.
Authorities say three students were waiting at a bus stop at 25th Ave. NE and NE 46th St. at 7:45 pm when two men, who were also standing at the bus stop, grabbed iPhones from two of the students and tried to grab one student's purse. The suspects struggled with one of the victims, who fled to a nearby business and called 911. Police weren't able to find the suspects.
3) Police arrested a man in Ballard Wednesday evening after he allegedly leered at a 12-year-old boy and made creepy comments in the showers at a gym.
Police say the 12-year-old boy was in the locker room at a gym on 53rd and Leary Ave NW getting ready to take a shower when a naked man sitting near the showers began staring at him.
Police say the man then "made inappropriate remarks of a sexual nature,"
The boy told his mom about the incident, and gym staff called police.
The suspect fled from police, but was arrested later that evening and booked into jail for "communication with a minor for immoral purposes."
