Grunge Recap

By Josh Feit September 7, 2011

I've never been much of a grunge fan (nor a Nirvana fan for that matter), but the Wall Street Journal ran a smart and concise article last week about Seattle's 15 minutes as the world's rock music Mecca.

With a spot-on reference to Nirvana's Elvis Costello moment and the exactly-right description of Nirvana that I've been dying for someone to say—"not really a grunge band at all but a Beatles-Monkees-Raspberries pop band that happened to play grunge"— (the Raspberries!), do take the five minutes to read this eloquent recap as the 20th anniversary of Nevermind creeps up on us (September 24).
