He was supposed to declare last week, and State Sen. Steve Hobbs (D-44, Lake Stevens) beat him to the punch with a surprise—to me anyway—announcement .
But state Rep. Marko Liias (D-21, Edmonds), a green liberal in the legislature, announced his candidacy for US congress today with this video . Liias was key to passing this year's agreement to phase the TransAlta power plant off coal.
Drug reform advocate Rep. Roger Goodman (D-45, Kirkland) and former state legislator Laura Ruderman have already declared.
The gaggle of Democrats are going after US Rep. Jay Inslee's seat. Inslee is running for governor.
