Apartment Therapy: Mad Homes is "A Little Happy Insanity"

By Erica C. Barnett July 20, 2011

Apartment Therapy---a national green design blog that's affiliated with a bestselling series of books about interior design---featured Capitol Hill's Mad Homes art installation today, calling it "an incredibly unique experience." (Mad Homes, which we featured in Fizz on Monday, is a temporary installation inside—and outside—a batch of home slated for demolition in an infill project in N. Capitol Hill.)

Apartment Therapy writes:
I look all day at how to design your home in new ways and how to incorporate art and decor into your living space, but what if you had the entire house to use as art itself? What would you do? What kind of experience would you want to create for your audience?

Having free range to make art at this scale doesn't come around that often. This is the kind of work that inspires me as an artist. If you are in, or will be visiting Seattle before August 7th you just might want to stop by "Mad Homes" for a little happy insanity.

Mad Homes, at 711 Bellevue Ave. E., runs from 12 to 7 pm every day through August 7.
