This morning, I checked to see if Targeted Growth, Inc. was a contributor to U.S. Rep. Jay Inslee. Targeted Growth, Inc. is the South Lake Union biotech firm where Inslee officially announced today that he's running for governor. I found that neither the company nor any of its employees had donated to Inslee.

However, further checking shows it's not that simple: Targeted Growth Inc.'s lobbying firm, Van Ness Feldman, gave Inslee $2,500 in 2010.  And Van Ness Feldman lobbyist, Ben Lee McMackin, who directly works on VNF's $30,000 lobbying contract with Targeted Growth, Inc., gave Inslee $1000 back in 2008.
