Afternoon Fizz: Clark's Council Aide to Head Up Pro-Tunnel Campaign

By Erica C. Barnett June 2, 2011

Dan Nolte, a longtime aide to city council member Sally Clark, is taking the summer off to manage the campaign against the anti-tunnel Referendum 1.

Clark is one of the council's eight tunnel proponents.

Prior to working in Clark's office, Nolte worked on campaigns for Bill Sherman, who ran for King County Prosecutor, city council member Tom Rasmussen, and Eastside Congressional hopeful Darcy Burner.

Drew Paxton, spokesman for the Ref. 1 campaign, says the anti-tunnel side is close to hiring its own campaign manager. Mayor Mike McGinn and council member Mike O'Brien are the only city elected officials who oppose the tunnel.
