Connelly Still Stalking Erica

By Josh Feit May 18, 2011

PI columnist Joel Connelly weighed in on a Facebook thread this week re: Erica's Monday Cola post
about Seattle City Council member Jean Godden's "clumsy play for feminist sympathies" (as Erica put it).

A recent Godden fundraising mailer played the feminist card and Erica called her on the tacky ploy, noting not only that Godden's absence wouldn't decimate the feminist sensibilities of the council, but also that Godden herself took out young female council member, Judy Nicastro, when Godden won in 2003. (Oh, and by the way, her opponent Maurice Classen works in the domestic violence division in the King County Prosecutor's Office)

Connelly---lacking some feminist sensibilities himself (he calls Erica's article "catty" and calls Erica herself a "viper")---wrote: "Classen is impressive candidate. Does him no favors to circulate petty, catty hit piece by pit viper from Tom DeLay's home town in Texas."

Erica is indeed from Texas' 22nd Congressional District—though she refers to it as Rep. Nick Lampson's district (Lampson is the Democrat who replaced Tom DeLay in 2008 only to lose in the red wave of 2010).

Otherwise, we're not exactly sure what Connelly is talking about.

(Previously in Connelly's anti-ECB invectives: "Texas fire ant," "humorless and hectoring," a "radical journalist.")
