You Can't Have It Both Ways

The Obama Administration says it wants to wait for the results of an independent commission's study before determining that contraception is preventive medicine that should be covered under the health care law. Opponents of covering birth control say pregnancy isn't a disease to be prevented.

OK. Let's say the definition of "preventive medicine" only applies to preventive diseases, not medical conditions like pregnancy (or . If Obama isn't going to cover birth control on those grounds, he'll also have to bar health insurance companies from charging women more because we can get pregnant---because pregnancy isn't a disease.

You can't have it both ways.
