Tacoma News Tribune: Kohl-Welles Booze Bill Passes

By Josh Feit February 22, 2011

While a bill to legalize pot failed to make this week's policy bill cutoff (policy bills had to make it out of committee by yesterday), Sen. Jeanne Kohl-Welles' (D-36, Ballard) bill
to allow wine samples at farmers' markets not only made it out of committee—it already passed the whole senate today, 41-4.

The TNT reports
:
Because the wines for sale at farmers markets can be more expensive than wine at the grocery store, Kohl-Welles said she would be more inclined to buy wines at Seattle farmers markets if she could try them first.
