Extra Fizz: Sen. Patty Murray Staffer Joins DC Lobbying Firm
Here's an appropriate follow-up to this morning's Fizz item about former Gov. Chris Gregoire staffer Matt Steuerwalt now working as a lobbyist in Olympia
Jeff Bjornstad, U.S. Sen. Patty Murray's chief of staff and then 2010 reelection campaign head, has a new job—President of Federal Affairs and Strategic Communications for lobbying outfit Washington 2 Advocates.
Based in Bellevue with a D.C. office, the firms' clients include Russell Investments, Sound Transit, and TriWest Health Care
Bjornstad will be in the D.C. office.
The news certainly fits with the Sen. Murray's profile: The Seattle Times reported during last year's election that lobbyists ranked as Murray's top set of donors.
Footnote: Evidently Bjornstad is following in his wife's footsteps. Bjornstad's wife, Christy Gullion, worked at Sen. Murray's office before Bjornstad and then went to W2A as a lobbyist.
Gullion is currently the director of UW's federal relations team. UW is also on W2A's client list.
